- July 18th (8:00-11:00) LinkIt - This session will focus on the Test Creation features of LinkIt. Teachers can develop standards aligned assessments in LinkI that can be administered digitally or paper-based. LinkIt has many questions format options, many of which can be set to automatically grade if the assessment is done online. The digital test format is very similar to the Computer Based Testing format of the NYS 3-8 assessments. We will also navigate the assessment results features of LinkIt.
- July 31st (8:30-11:30) SeeSaw - Seesaw is a powerful tool for collecting and reflecting on student learning. Students can upload their work to a digital portfolio/journal in the form of a photo, video, file attachment, drawing, and web link formats and this work can then be viewed by teachers and parents. Seesaw will allow for students, teachers, and parents to reflect on growth over time and progress made. Seesaw also has a class blog feature built in allowing for increased sharing of student work and reflection.
- August 8th (8:30-11:30) Orange Slice - This is a Google Docs Add-on that enables teachers to create rubrics from preset or customizable categories. These rubrics can then be inserted directly into student work in Google Docs and used by the teacher for grading and feedback purposes. Orange Slices integrates will with Google Classroom as well.

Connected Educators
Facilitated by Sarah Olson
How can I, and my students, harness the power of our digital world to become effective global citizens?
The purpose of this course is to assist teachers in becoming confident globally connected citizens, so they can in turn teach our students to be effective global citizens. We will harness the power of social media, educator forums, and more, to create a community of personal learning. We will explore opportunities for our students to connect to the world outside our walls and/ or community, and how we can help them reach those opportunities. Teachers will build their own personal learning network in which they can exercise their own global connectivity and set a goal for connecting their students to a broader world perspective, audience, or opportunity, and then implement and reflect on this goal.
